The Sky star makes history (again) with her Reebok debut and a spot on the most iconic basketball game in the world.\

Angel Reese is no stranger to the spotlight—but this week, the Chicago Sky’s breakout star took things to a whole new level. Reese has officially been named the cover athlete for the NBA 2K26 WNBA Edition, and if that wasn’t already iconic enough, she debuted her first-ever signature shoe on the cover: the Angel Reese 1 by Reebok.

“Being on the cover of NBA 2K26 and debuting my first-ever signature shoe with Reebok on that cover… it’s more than a milestone — it’s a statement,” said Reese in a release. “It’s about representation and showing young girls they can be confident, bold, and take up space unapologetically.”

At just 23, Reese is stacking wins on and off the court. After signing with Reebok in October 2023—just weeks after fellow LSU Tiger and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal took over as Reebok Basketball’s president—Reese wasted no time cementing herself as a new face of the brand. Her shoe, the Angel Reese 1, is the kind of bold, disruptive debut we’ve come to expect from her. Think: glam meets grit, just like her game.

On the Court, She’s a Problem

After leading LSU to a national championship in 2023, Reese was selected 7th overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky—and immediately made her presence known. She led the league in rebounds her rookie season, grabbing 13.1 boards per game and breaking the WNBA’s single-season rookie rebound record with 446 total. Her 15-game double-double streak? Also a record.

A wrist injury cut that historic rookie campaign short, but not before she secured a spot on the WNBA All-Rookie Team. And this season? Reese is still making noise, averaging 12.6 points, 12.8 rebounds, and nearly 4 assists per game across 17 contests. The Sky may be rebuilding, but Angel is clearly a cornerstone.

Joining an Elite Legacy

With her 2K cover, Reese joins a powerful lineage of WNBA icons:

  • Candace Parker, the first woman ever to grace the cover, for NBA 2K22’s 25th Anniversary Edition
  • Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird (2K23)
  • Sabrina Ionescu (2K24)
  • A’ja Wilson (2K25)

“To be cemented in NBA 2K history is a special honor that reflects not only my journey, but also all the veteran WNBA players who have paved the way before me,” said Reese. “I’m proud to be part of a game that continues to elevate women’s basketball and can’t wait for fans to see how NBA 2K26 brings our game to life like never before.”

Also sharing this year’s NBA 2K26 spotlight is Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who was named the cover athlete for the main edition.
